Art Exhibition “Around the World in Seven Continents”

The TRA Gallery currently excepting submissions from local and international photographers.  Photographers with images that capture the physical and cultural characteristic of one or more of the seven continents are welcome to submit their work.  All submissions will be juried and selected during the week of June 18^th – 22^nd, 2010.

The exhibition will be held from Saturday, July 24^th through Saturday, August 21^st, 2010.

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

While looking at the different characteristics of the world continents, it cannot be denied, however, that each of the world continents is unique in term of its people, peculiar physical and cultural diversity which deserves our attention.

“Around the World in Seven Continents” is a photo exhibition designed to take its viewer on a visual journey around the beautiful planet we call earth.  While each continents displays its unique physical and cultural characteristic, a selection of photographs will be selected that will captured those physical and cultural characteristics. 

The primary purpose of this exhibition is to provide a visual and educational environment through photography that educated and inspire the local community and art appreciators.  Those who will not likely get the opportunity to visit and see those locations during their lifetime will have an opportunity to get a preview at what exists outside their community and around the world.

ARTIST ELIGIBILITY

Artists must be 18 years or older.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS  

▫ Artist may submit up to 4 entries.

▫ If selected, artworks must be delivered to the TRA Gallery suitably matted, framed, wired and ready to hang.

▫ 2D size is a maximum 5 feet in any direction.

▫ Artist may submit via email, photos, or CD, 

      Note:  Email: file should not exceed 2MB

 SELECTION JURY

The selection jury will be composed of individuals in the academic and professional field of photography along with members of TRA Gallery. (To Be Announced)

ARTIST RECEPTION:

Saturday, July 24^th, 4-8pm.

Refreshments will be served.  Work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit.

LIABILITY

Works will be handled with all possible care. Artist must provide own insurance.  TRA Gallery reserves the right to photograph and use accepted work for documentation, website, publicity, or catalogue purposes.

SALES

Every effort will be made to promote sales. TRA Gallery will collect a 30% commission on all sales generated through the exhibition.  Works available for sale will be sold at the price indicated on the entry form. No changes in price will be permitted upon acceptance. Works not for sale shall be listed NFS.
